| MegaIQ now offers secure
server hosting. This enables our e-Commerce clients to offer secure information collection
in relation to their transaction processing. It is also useful for clients who
simply wish to provide encrypted data transmission for added security of their
confidential information. Nothing is more
important for any e-Commerce shop than encouraging visitors to buy - and providing
reassurance about security is a key factor in encouraging online sales.
Most users regard the golden padlock as the hallmark of secure online transactions, and
research has shown that online orders rise significantly when it is displayed. Shared SSL
is the simplest and most cost-effective way to offer customers that security.

The MegaIQ Shared SSL service provides space on a shared secure server for the processing
of orders from your e-Commerce store, at a lower cost than conventional secure server
solutions.
Our SSL Certificate is provided by Starfield
Technologies. For more information about Starfield read their security policy by

A PERSONAL WORD ABOUT SHOPPING
ON-LINE:
The idea of submitting your credit card information to the owner of a website, via the
Internet, bothers some people. As I have told many of my clients, submission of
credit card information on-line, even in a non-secure environment, is safer than lots of
other ways that people use their credit cards. By example I've always stated that it
is safer than giving your credit card to a waiter at a restaurant, who earns minimum wage
and leaves the room with it.
In July 2004 I received a call from a
representative at Nike.com. She asked if I had placed an order earlier that month at
nike.com. I replied that I absolutely did not. She told me that their system
detected that purchase to be unusual since the order was being shipped to an address in
Los Angeles and I live in Texas. The card that was used was my Bank of America Visa
card. I checked my credit card statements for the previous year, and as I thought, I
had never used that card to purchase anything on-line. In fact, I have two Capital
One cards that I maintain specifically for on-line use. My Bank of America card was
used extensively in February to purchase meals during a ski trip to Vail, Colorado. The
hypothetical scenario that I had been telling my clients was a greater vunerability than
on-line shopping is now a proven fact!
