| MegaIQ's E-mail Anti-Spam Service
identifies spam and prevents it from being delivered to your inbox. All mail messages are
sent through several layers of filters and checks to assure that maximum spam detection is
achieved. DNS black lists are used to
compare the sender information from incoming messages against spam databases to identify
spam. A white list allows you to specify e-mail addresses and domains that you do not want
to content filter. Content filtering utilizes a spam phrase list as well as statistical
filtering to examine the body of a message and determine whether it is spam.
Spam options are selectable by each hosting
client. Thus, each hosting client can use different DNS black lists, a different white
list, a different phrase list, and choose their own statistical filtering configuration.
If a message is identified as spam, you can
select from the following spam actions to process the message: delete it, forward to an
e-mail address, or insert a comment in the "header" of the message identifying
what spam test the message failed.
Anti-Spam Features:
Specify e-mail addresses and domains that
you trust not to send spam and do not need to be content filtered. (White List)
Check to see if the sending address is that
of a known spammer. (DNS Black Lists)
Enable connection validation tests, which
verify the "Mail FROM" address, HELO/EHLO domain information, and perform
reverse DNS lookups for each message.
Search for a specific spam phrase within the
body of a message. (Phrase Filtering)
Perform an analysis on each incoming e-mail
to determine the statistical likelihood that the message is spam. (Statistical Filtering)
Enter “trusted” IP addresses and
ranges for which no spam filtering is done.
Use delivery rules to filter spam based on
the spam X-Headers.
Anti-Spam Service:
This is an optional service available
to MegaIQ hosting clients.
Anti-Spam service is not available to a single
isolated e-mail account. It must be installed on a domain level. Therefore it
will apply to all e-mail accounts associated with that domain name.
